25 Years of Globachem: Kick-off with a Board Game
How do you explain to family and friends what you do at work? Especially when you work in crop protection and food security. Not exactly a topic that comes up spontaneously during Christmas dinner. For our 25th anniversary, we came up with something unique: a board game that brings our work to life in an accessible way.
From lab to table
On December 5th, the day had arrived. All our colleagues received a copy of Crop Crisis, a cooperative board game, as a Saint Nicholas gift. The concept? Players work together to combat crop diseases and prevent famine. Exactly what we do in real life, but packaged into an exciting game.
Everything was designed in-house. Our colleagues Lise Quaghebeur and Jan-Pieter Ploem made custom-made rules based on our company. Laura Murrocu and Jan-Pieter desgined the game. Combined their expertise and creativity to bring this game to life. A great example of teamwork!
Why a board game?
After 25 years in the sector, we know one thing for sure: collaboration is the key to success. Whether it’s supporting farmers, researching new solutions, or protecting crops, we need each other. And what better way to celebrate that than with a cooperative game?
Crop Crisis makes the complex theme of crop protection and food security tangible and understandable. It’s a way to share our work with the people around us, without them having to take an agriculture course first.
A quarter century of dedication
25 years ago, we started with a mission: to help farmers protect their crops. That mission has never changed. What has changed is the way we do it. We’ve grown, we’ve learned, and we keep innovating. This board game perfectly symbolizes what we stand for: innovation, collaboration, and fun.
It’s also a great reminder that our work has an impact that reaches beyond the field. Food security concerns us all. With Crop Crisis, we hope to start that conversation at kitchen tables everywhere.
Onward to the future
This anniversary is not just a moment to look back, but above all to look forward. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved, but we’re far from finished. The challenges in agriculture and crop protection are constantly evolving due to the warming climate, and we’re evolving with them.
Here’s to the next 25 years!
