Job description

You will work with your colleagues on R&D projects, involving various scientific disciplines such as chemistry, microbiology, molecular biology and biology.
You will conduct chemical and microbiological tests in the development of new crop protection products as well as efficacy trials of these products on micro-organisms, insects and weeds. This includes writing trial schedules, collecting data in the lab and greenhouse as well as reporting the results and maintaining the fungal and bacterial collections.
You will help follow up the greenhouse trials and, occasionally, the field trials.
You will also help maintain the laboratory.
You will work closely with your colleagues in R&D and report to the head of the R&D department. You have laboratory skills in combination with plants or micro-organisms.

Key skills and qualifications

You are a creative thinker for developing and implementing new protocols.
You have a Master’s degree in biochemistry and biotechnology, Bachelor’s degree in Agro-and Biotechnology (towards Biotechnology) or Biomedical Laboratory Technology.
You have feeling with the agricultural sector (plants), a first professional lab experience is a plus as well as experience with molecular biology or experience with fungal cultures.
You are focused on the application of procedures and rules regarding hygiene, safety, quality and environment.
You are result-oriented and work proactively.
You work smoothly in a team, but you are also able to work independently.
You are flexible and know how to get to work.
You can work routinely as well as try out new things.
You speak and write fluently in Dutch and English.
